MPC8280ZUUPEA

The MPC8280ZUUPEA, a now-obsolete member of NXP’s PowerQUICC II family, integrates a 603e PowerPC core with a Communications Processor Module (CPM) to deliver multi-protocol packet processing in a single 480-ball TBGA package. Its architecture accelerates Ethernet, ATM, HDLC, and other serial protocols through dedicated hardware channels while providing a PCI bridge and extensive serial connectivity. This level of on-chip integration made the device a cornerstone for routing platforms, media gateways, and intelligent industrial controllers where deterministic data handling and reduced latency were critical.

Officially discontinued by NXP, the MPC8280ZUUPEA is no longer in active production.
