An end-of-life microprocessor from NXP Semiconductors’ MPC74xx family, the MC7448THX1267ND delivers 1.267 GHz PowerPC G4 processing performance in a 360-contact flip-chip BGA package. Based on the e600 core with double-precision floating-point and AltiVec SIMD acceleration, the device integrates 32 KB L1 caches and a 1 MB L2 cache, making it well-suited for compute-intensive embedded applications such as legacy avionics, naval radar signal processors, and industrial control systems that rely on the PowerPC architecture. The low-power design and ruggedized FCBGA packaging have been widely adopted in long-deployment military and aerospace programs where changing the processor would trigger extensive re-qualification.
