The NKE0503DC is a 1 W isolated, unregulated DC-DC converter module from Murata Power Solutions, delivering a fixed 3.3 VDC output from a 5 VDC input in a miniature SIP (single in-line package) footprint. The converter provides 1000 VDC galvanic isolation between input and output, enabling noise decoupling and ground loop elimination in distributed power architectures. Operating at a typical efficiency of 75%, it supplies up to 303 mA of output current across an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The SIP package uses a through-hole, four-pin configuration with an industry-standard pinout, simplifying board layout and drop-in replacement.
Typical deployments include isolated bias rails for RS-485/RS-232 transceivers, CAN bus nodes, and low-power sensor front-ends in industrial automation, test and measurement, and instrumentation systems. The unregulated output makes it well-suited for loads that tolerate voltage variation with line and load changes. From a procurement standpoint, the NKE series is a mature, long-lifecycle product family; nevertheless, design teams should verify current production status and any last-time-buy notifications, as obsolescence risk can increase for legacy form factors.
